Repurpose

Drinking Coke and Thinking Green……got my brain to thinkin’ about how to use an everyday item on an Artist Trading Card. The correct term is to “repurpose.” Don’t you just love that word? It sends a message of hope for something that with just a glance would appear to be an item with no value, used up, and no good. It may of had a great past, but no place for today. Not the case with “repurpose,” though. Repurpose finds a treasure in the forgotten, a task for the useless, offering value and appreciation.

Could you use a little “repurposing” (not sure this is even a word. 🙂 in your life? Then let’s start with incorporating this mentality in your art. I want to encourage you to create an ATC, card, or inchie that repurposes something, the options are limitless, and the rewards are so satisfying. Do you want to play along? If so, please post here what you have created so that we can all be inspired. Never know, might be the first of Paper Pedaler blog candy. If you want to play along, I will randomly choose a winner from those who post their creation, and send you a little blog candy. Here is my contribution…….Can you spot what was repurposed?

  2. First, this is terrific! Second, I LOVE ATC’s. Third, my first visit here, Fourth, you do wonderful stuff and Fifth, in the famous words of “Arrrnold” I’ll be back!

    Nice to meet you.

  3. Great ATC! I’m a packrat, so I cannot part with anything that I can imagine being re-purposed, or “upcycled”, as they say at Etsy.com. My Christmas gift to my mom was a whole set of cards made from card fronts I bought at Ebay. She’ll be all set for cards for a year or two.
