Drinking Coke and Thinking Green……got my brain to thinkin’ about how to use an everyday item on an Artist Trading Card. The correct term is to “repurpose.” Don’t you just love that word? It sends a message of hope for something that with just a glance would appear to be an item with no value, used up, and no good. It may of had a great past, but no place for today. Not the case with “repurpose,” though. Repurpose finds a treasure in the forgotten, a task for the useless, offering value and appreciation.
Could you use a little “repurposing” (not sure this is even a word. 🙂 in your life? Then let’s start with incorporating this mentality in your art. I want to encourage you to create an ATC, card, or inchie that repurposes something, the options are limitless, and the rewards are so satisfying. Do you want to play along? I am not sure what is repurposed, but I do know I am in LOVE with this CARD Christy!!!! beautiful how the read and blue just jump out!!! is it pages of a book repurposed???? I have a niece that is SO good at this sort of thing, only on a larger scale. (dressers, wheels, etc etc etc) we always tell her someday she will open a store and then name of it will be “Repurpose”.
so…….did I guess right?????? I alsoways love using the Unexpected. It is what I do in my Simply Altered art.

Great ATC! I’m a packrat, so I cannot part with anything that I can imagine being re-purposed, or “upcycled”, as they say at Etsy.com. My Christmas gift to my mom was a whole set of cards made from card fronts I bought at Ebay. She’ll be all set for cards for a year or two.
