Still Ringin’ Around Rosie

Here is the final creation to honor the women, every “Rosie,” who stepped up in a time of turmoil, and altered their lifestyle in an effort to better America and support the men they loved. Isn’t that a neat “pep-talk” from the women who didn’t complain about the situation? They sacrificed and accepted change, not only to find a solution, but to BE the solution.

This ATC started with a base of black and white, and then I paper-pieced Rosie’s shirt and headband. A little sparkle was added to the whole card using glitter gel pens, and a small crystal was added to Rosie’s collar. Every woman, working or not, needs a little bling. 😉 The card was finished off with touches of distressing. Hope you enjoyed a little walk down memory lane–whether you are meeting Rosie for the first time, or have known her all your life, she still exhibits a powerful message, even through an ATC.

About Christy

I am a papercrafter who attempts to view life at a tricycle pace. If you are in a hurry don't ask me for directions. I love making art to swap, especially retro art. Creating is fun, but creating for the purpose of sharing is fulfilling.

  1. My husband made an inchie out of this Rosie the Riveter image that was going around the internet with Sarah Palin's face. I will never see her the same way again – either Rosie or Sarah (lol)

I love the paper piecing over the B&W image – it really pops!
