summer journal

This mini journal was created from chipboard coasters to capture the highlights from summer 2010.  The coasters were painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint and sprayed with perfect pearls for the perfect touch of shine.  The inside of the journal was lined with patterned paper and plain white paper was inserted for recording memories, using the following tutorial  The front cover was embellished with images from Eat Cake Graphics.  The little girl and fence were colored with Copics.  The tree image, also from Eat Cake Graphics, was stamped directly on the coaster and a little added color from the Copics made this the perfect shade tree.  The title was inspired by letters from a magazine.

Can’t wait to see what my 6 year old draws in this journal.  It will be fascinating to learn what she thought were “summer highlights.”  🙂
